Merit has little to do with Trump - Litigation. He and his new very wealthy friends are all about intimation. If you don't vote they way they are told, They will buy you out of office.

Proving ill intent is far more difficult when you have a respected person making the statement as they see the evidence.
This won't serve anyone well in the future. As a practical matter, folks are not inclined to answer polls today. I suppose people will be less inclined to answer poll questions in the future. Reputable pollsters will find another avenue to make money.
