Very good analysis, Ed. One concern for me: violence begets violence. How much military aid will it take? We need to find another, more effective way to convince Russia and its leaders to go back to their own sandbox and play nice in it!
My concern with the Republican party is they think of their party before what is in the best interest of our country. I'm encouraged to hear Senator Grassley recognize the danger of allowing Putin to win the war which was started by him and was unprovoked by Ukraine, and what it would communicate to Putin about his next target. We don't need to look back very far in history when the free world stayed on the sidelines as Hitler went through Europe like a hot knife through butter.

Thanks for pointing this out, Ed.
