Dangerous is not an overstatement. This is just one more idea in an ongoing list of dangerous ideas. Thanks for calling out Ms. Haley on this. And in your comment, thanks for expanding upon it.

Thanks Ed. question: at what age is it too old to run for Senator, US House, Gov, etc. ? are they all 75? (not for Grassley, but people make exception for those close to home).

better yet, at what age is it too old to vote? Is it also 75?

I am 75 and I serve as executive director of three foundations with total assets of $6.5 million, and I am in my second term on the Rock Island-Milan Board of Education. I also raise funds for Genesius Guild, serve as Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6420, and volunteer for my church and other nonprofit organizayions. So, former Governor Haley, bring on the competency test. I'll match results with you.

In the South, competency and or literacy test have the same goal of preventing people from voting or excluding someone from running. If Chuck Grassley had displayed any evidence of incompetency his age would have been a factor in the election. I didn't vote for him because he has served long enough and I don't agree with his views. Term limits make the most sense in terms of how new ideas could come forward and I think would focus politicians to be more concerned with America and not their party affiliation. I believe they might even be more agreeable to compromise and collaborate with the other side of the isle.

Braley has been proven right in his assessment of Grassley. I’ve been fighting Grassley’s attacks on academic freedom since the early ‘70s

“ think that most commonsense Americans loathe the idea of Trump being president again.”

Agreed. But almost weekly I’m disturbed learning another “common sense” friend or associate is still all in on Trump. He has groomed them well, they defend in the face of any evidence.

In fact evidence makes them cling more fiercely. I’m not telling you anything you don’t know.
