It seems like more economic classes, including those our governor may have taken years ago, should have focused more on teaching the difference and significance between progressive vs regressive taxes.

CUT taxes for the Wealthy and big business.The Middle-class pays more and the GOP cut more social benefits so they can help their wealthy donors. Republicans are going to lock in this regressive tax structure with a constitutional amendment making it almost impossible to raise income taxes.
For what it's worth, it sounds like Governor Reynolds is not interested in signing new sales tax exemptions into law, so I doubt the Iowa Senate will take up these bills.
Excellent point, Ed! Keep hammering this point home. Just like the income tax cuts mainly benefitted higher income earners and had little benefit to those at the bottom.
