I agree that the correct way to fill a vacancy would be a special election but requiring over 6,000 signatures in less than 2 weeks to petition for a special election is an extremely difficult task. The three county officials should choose to have a special election rather than choosing who ever they want to fill the vacancy. However, if they are going to select someone to fill the vacancy they should choose the person from those that ran in the last election and lost. They should select the person in that group that had the highest vote total in the last election for the Supervisor position.
